Rene is Chairman and CEO at ArkMalibu. He has helped hundreds of companies think strategically and become more successful. Rene has been president and CEO of two public companies for a total of 10 years. Most recently, he served as the president and CEO of Layne Christensen (a NASDAQ company). Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of NS Group (NYSE), which he helped grow from a $150 million enterprise to a $1.5 billion company. As an investment banker for 15 years, he has worked on capital raising and strategic transactions involving many industrial and natural resource companies around the world.
As Managing Director of Salomon Smith Barney based in New York, Rene held various corporate finance roles including co-head of global metals & mining practice, head of steel practice and head of paper & forest products practice. He was also a Principal in Corporate Finance at Morgan Stanley based in New York.
He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Ottawa, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also received his MBA from Harvard Business School. Rene has been married to Karen since 1984 and they have two adult children. Rene enjoys reading, travel, hockey, golf, and is a PCA driving instructor.
Peter Kubasek

Peter Kubasek is Founder and Rainmaker of ArkMalibu, headquartered in Cincinnati. Peter has been closely involved in more than 500 merger and acquisition projects ranging from $2 million to over $1 billion in sales, representing billions in transactional value. He has advised clients in a variety of areas including 3D printing, technology, consumer services, communications, manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, and distribution.
Peter has a passion for connecting people and ideas that are near to his heart, and he collaborates with a number of charitable organizations.
Peter is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Chief Executives Organization, the Cincinnati Association for Corporate Growth, and the Business Growth Alliance Affiliate Board. He has also served with the boards of several local charitable organizations and has volunteered in a variety of service endeavors. After earning an MBA from Pepperdine University, he began his career at Andersen Consulting in Los Angeles, moving quickly into Corporate Development roles at Nestlé USA and The Loewen Group. Peter obtained his undergraduate business degree Magna Cum Laude from John Brown University.
Peter and his wife Maryam have been married more than 35 years; they live in Blue Ash, Ohio, and have two sons, Hudson and Luke. Having grown up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Peter has a great love for the game of hockey and still plays weekly with his sons.
Michael McClellan

Michael McClellan is Chief Operating Officer at ArkMalibu who oversees Operations, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Information Technology. He brings a broad background of leading organizations in the military, business, and non-profit sectors to help ArkMalibu grow and focus on selling companies.
Michael also consults to companies and is part of FSH Management Consulting. He previously served as the head of Global Outreach and also as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Jewish Voice Ministries. Before that, he served as COO of the Transformation Opportunity Fund, a turnaround private equity fund; as a result of this, he also operated as the Chief Financial Officer of American Micro, a precision manufacturing firm.
Michael has worked for several major corporations –Procter & Gamble, PEPSICO/YUM Brands, and GE – in a variety of roles, including operations management, marketing, finance, real estate, and strategic planning. In addition to this corporate experience, he owned a private business as one of the largest Pizza Hut franchisees with over 120 restaurants throughout Virginia and Maryland and served on the Franchise Holders board.
After graduating with distinction from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Michael served several successful tours as a commissioned officer with the US Navy. Following this, he furthered his education by earning an MBA at the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
Michael is married to Char and has two adult children and two young grandchildren. When he is not working, Michael enjoys road cycling, running, serving ministries, learning, and traveling. Michael is also one of the founders of Honor and Remember, an organization that honors those families who have lost loved ones in service to our country.

Chris Robichaud is a Partner at ArkMalibu who utilizes his mix of finance, entrepreneurship and consulting experience to aid clients in navigating the sell-side M&A transaction process. He is a trusted team member through the entire deal lifecycle, helping entrepreneurs to capture their company’s true value by modeling future financial results, quantifying synergies, managing potential acquirers, and examining the impact of key transaction terms.
Prior to joining ArkMalibu, Chris was an Investment Associate for one of New York City’s most active early-stage Venture Capital funds. He was the co-founder of a B2B SaaS software company in the digital media space and spent six years as a Technology Risk Consultant at Deloitte where he led strategy, operations, and digital transformation projects for Fortune 500 clients. He has experience across many industries, including enterprise software, financial services, and digital media, and has held the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) cybersecurity credential since 2015.
Chris has earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science from Boston College’s Carrol School of Management, with concentrations in Finance and Information Systems Accounting.
Away from ArkMalibu, Chris enjoys ice hockey, scuba diving, photography, and horseback riding with his wife Shannon.
Jordan Wittbrot

Jordan Wittbrot is a Director at ArkMalibu, where he leverages his extensive investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic networking expertise to lead client engagements and execute complex sell-side transactions. A skilled sector generalist with deep sector knowledge in technology, FinTech, and SaaS, he provides strategic counsel to middle-market business owners across a diverse range of industries, guiding them through the entire process to maximize value.
Prior to joining ArkMalibu, he served as a Vice President in the Technology Investment Banking group at D.A. Davidson. In this role, he was a key architect in the successful execution of over 25 M&A and capital raising transactions, collectively worth over $1.5 billion. His responsibilities encompassed leading deal teams, conducting in-depth financial modeling and valuation analysis, managing the due diligence process, and negotiating directly with buyers and legal counsel to secure optimal outcomes for clients.
Earlier, Jordan led the financial services recruiting division at PRG and also served as an Analyst in the Hedge Fund Services Group at Citi.
Jordan earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The Ohio State University and is actively pursuing his CFA designation as a Level III candidate. Away from the office, Jordan is an avid runner and enjoys exploring new culinary techniques as a home cook. He is also a proud father of two dogs, Brody and Finn.

During his undergraduate years, he worked as a Summer Analyst at Archegos Capital, a hedge fund in New York City, along with Beyond, an angel-backed venture capital group, as the Lead Deal Analyst.
Upon graduation, Andrew joined JP Morgan Chase as a Corporate Analyst, learning valuable skills in analytics, product management, and consulting. He also remained involved with Beyond, providing deal consulting, financial modeling, and analyst training in a part-time capacity, helping to invest over $3 million in capital during his tenure.
In his free time, Andrew loves playing and watching most sports, mentoring high-schoolers, and gathering with friends to enjoy good conversation. He and his wife, Olivia, like traveling to new places together and adventuring in the outdoors.
Josh Newman

Outside of ArkMalibu, Josh loves Olympic weightlifting, cooking, and participating in his church activities.

During his time at Miami, Luke worked alongside business owners while serving as the Managing Director of Redhawk Ventures, a student-led venture capital fund.
His prior experience includes working with Fifth Third Bank’s Equity Capital Markets group where he was responsible for market research, deck preparation, and deal analysis. He enjoyed the exposure to the public market space and assisting in deals across multiple industries.

During his time at EY, Joseph was responsible for collaborating with clients to create a unified data strategy, and to leverage this data in various analyses and in the creation of business intelligence dashboards.
Outside of work, Joseph enjoys exercising / sports, traveling, playing the piano, and rooting for the sports teams of his hometown Detroit. He and his wife Olivia enjoy visiting new places, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family.
Luke Kubasek

The company specialized in building retaining walls, planting, installing mulch, and tree clearing, among other services. Luke successfully exited the business in April 2024.
Luke attended Concordia University Ann Arbor on an athletic scholarship and is currently earning a Graduate in Business Administration from Swinburne University. He is also a Level 2 WSET Sommelier.
Outside of work, Luke enjoys playing hockey with his dad, traveling, and exploring new culinary experiences. Luke is also a Canadian citizen, something he is very proud of.
