Melissa Monich is a retired Vice President of Research & Development at Procter & Gamble. She led global, end-to-end research & development teams with laboratories in Asia, Europe, and the US. These roles included responsibility for $100-300 million yearly budgets and teams of 400-700 global employees. Her skills include innovation strategy, leading multifunctional teams, technical talent development, platform development, and productivity improvement/cost savings. She was recognized for her leadership in the advancement and retention of women in R&D with a CTO Pathfinder Award.
From 2006 through 2018, Melissa served as the Global VP of R&D for Hair Care, Pet Care, Snacks, Coffee, and finally Grooming and Global Devices. In each of those assignments, she was responsible for the R&D function and reported to the president of the business unit.
Melissa is an investor member at Queen City Angels, where she works with other members to identify and fund entrepreneurs. She loves to learn about new technologies and business models and to help people achieve their goals. She also serves on the Board of a privately held pet products company.
Melissa and her husband, Don Monich, have two children and three grandchildren. Melissa is honored to serve as the mayor of Wyoming, Ohio. She is Outreach Co-Chair at Ascension & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and volunteers weekly at Valley Interfaith Community Resource Center, a food and clothing pantry. Melissa is a chemical engineer by training and has been recognized as a University of Toledo Distinguished Alumna.
